BEFORE
STARTING THE
GAME
1) Teams
are selected at random.
2)
Each team consists of
a maximum of 15 players
and a minimum of 9.
Of whom no more than
9 may be out in the
field when on the defense,
but all 15 can hit while
on the offense.
3)
We all gather around
for beer prayer. The
team whose players drink
up all their beers first,
gets to bat first. Coin
tosses are for wuzzies.
BASIC
GAME
RULES
1)
While up to bat, hit
the ball as hard as
you can.
a. Make sure to hit
the ball before the
3rd pitch, because you
only get 3 pitches.
Each team must select
a pitcher from their
own team to pitch to
them while at bat.
b. Since the pitcher
is from your own team,
out of bounce, fouls,
balls, and strikes all
count against the three
pitches. So, make sure
to get to 1st base on
one of the first three
pitches.
c. All pitches are under
arm pitches.
d. If your own pitcher
hits you while at bat
you don’t get
a free ride to 1st base.
2)
Run to 1st base as fast
as your buzzed legs
will take you.
3)
Server at 1st base,
if you make it, will
serve you beer.
a. Make sure the server
is serving you the right
amount of beer…for
they can slow you down
by taking their sweet
time.
b. While running to
a base, do not run outside
the track or else you
could be called out.
c. Hint: drink what
they serve you as fast
as you can, because
once you get to 2nd
base you get more beer.
d. Stealing bases is
definitely allowed.
You can steal as soon
as the ball leaves the
pitchers hand as long
as it is a good hit.
Anything else you must
go back (i.e.: If the
ball is an out-of-bounce
hit you must go back.)
You can’t steal
if the catcher at home
does not catch the pitcher’s
pitch while batter is
up. But you can steal
if the catcher at home
doesn’t catch
the ball thrown to him/her
from his/her own team-member.
4)
Run to 2nd base if the
batter-up hits the ball.
5)
Once you make it to
2nd base, the server
at 2nd will serve you
more beer.
a. More than one player
on a base is not allowed.
If another runner is
coming up behind you,
you must drink quickly
or have the server hurry
up. If this occurs both
can be tagged out on
the same base. Remember,
servers are on the opposite
team, so they will try
anything to slow you
down.
6)
Run to 3rd if the batter-up
hits the ball.
7)
Once you make it to
3rd base, the server
at 3rd will serve you
water… ah, j.k...
more beer.
a. Hint: drink all the
beer that has been served
to you, because if you
get to home with beer
in your cup, your run
does not count. Drink
while waiting for the
batter to hit, while
running, etc.
8)
Making it to home on
empty (no beer in your
cup) will reward your
team with a point. You
must touch 4th base
upon getting home. For
making it home, you
will get another beer!
If you drink all the
beer when served at
home base you earn your
team an extra point.
Runner is responsible
for showing the Scorekeeper
an empty cup to get
the extra
point.
YOU COULD BE
CALLED OUT WHEN:
1)
Tagged by a defensive
team player who has
possession of the ball
in at least one hand
and you are not touching
a base for safety.
2) Running inside the
base. aka: cutting corners
(unless obstructed).
3) You lose contact
with the base when the
offensive team player
at the same base has
possession of the ball.
4) You overtake.
5) You obstruct (you
have right of way on
track only).
EARN YOUR TEAM EXTRA
POINTS WHILE OUT IN
THE FIELD
PLAYING DEFENSE:
1) Catch an air ball
while holding a beer
in your hand. (1 point)
2) Tag two runners that
are stuck at the same
base. You must get them
both out. (2 points)
3) Get all runners out
when bases are loaded.
(2 points)
Ways to earn your team
extra points while out
in the field playing
offense:
1) Hit a home run; make
it home on empty and
bringing in all the
runners when bases are
loaded. They must be
empty too. Total of
4 runner. (2 points)
2) Steal all three bases
while out in the field
(1 point)
3) All players get to
make this one up collectively
before the game starts.
